    Install Phoneporter in your browser. It takes a few seconds.

  2. Scan the code once

    Open the app on your phone and scan the QR code the extension shows. That connects them.

  3. Right-click, send

    Select something, right-click and choose Send. It shows up on your phone right away.

Private by design

Everything you send is end-to-end encrypted. The key travels in the QR code you scan, so it never reaches our server.

The server only holds sealed boxes it cannot open, and deletes each one as soon as your phone has it. There is no account to create.

What we do collect

  • A random install ID, a device identifier from your phone's system (on Android it stays the same after a reinstall), your phone and browser model, system and app versions, and language.
  • The push token your phone uses for notifications (Firebase Cloud Messaging).
  • IP addresses that Cloudflare sees when serving requests.
  • Error reports (Sentry), which you can turn off.
  • Encrypted items, kept at most 24 hours and never readable by us.
  • A pseudonymous user record that groups your phone with its connected browsers, and the day each was last active, for usage statistics.

Questions

Is Phoneporter free?
Yes. The extension and the app are free to use.
How big can an item be?
Up to 25 MB per item. Most texts, links and photos are well within that.
Does it work when the app is closed?
Yes. You get a notification and the item is ready when you open the app.
What if I lose my phone?
Items are stored on the phone, not on our server. Disconnect the browser in the extension and the phone can no longer receive from it.
Which browsers are supported?
Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera, Vivaldi and Firefox. Safari is coming. One phone can connect up to 5 browsers.
